MATHOCHISMThis series records the joys and horrors of Whitney as a math-phobic journalist who decides to enroll at a community college to see, once and for all, if she really is that bad with numbers. Mathochism is the impetus for Whitney’s upcoming book about math education and numeracy.
This series takes a frank look at Whitney’s ongoing fight with rheumatoid arthritis. Diagnosed while still in elementary school, Whitney has nonetheless managed to live a mostly normal life, getting an education, getting married, even managing to earn a private pilot license, which made Arthritis Today name her a “Hero Among Us” in the mid-’90s.
